Supporting Families and Young People

At S@rma, we believe that early support can make a lifelong difference. Adolescence and early adulthood are times of intense growth, but also challenge—and families sometimes need skilled, compassionate support to navigate these transitions together.
Our services for young people (aged 12 and above) and their families are designed to empower individuals, strengthen relationships, and foster emotional resilience. Grounded in evidence-based practice and delivered with empathy, our approach places the young person and their unique journey at the centre of everything we do.

Individual Therapy for Young People

We offer one-to-one online therapy tailored to the developmental needs of adolescents and young adults. Therapy provides a confidential, supportive space where young people can explore their feelings, manage difficult emotions, and build healthy coping strategies.
We commonly support young people with:
• Anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias
• Depression and low mood
• School stress and exam pressure
• Self-esteem and confidence issues
• Managing anger and emotional regulation
• Difficulties with peer and family relationships
• Identity exploration and LGBTQ+ support
• Grief, loss, and adjustment challenges
Our interventions draw on a range of approaches, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT-informed skills, and trauma-informed models where needed.

Family Therapy and Parental Support

We understand that a young person’s wellbeing is deeply connected to their family system. That’s why we offer family therapy sessions and parental coaching to:
• Improve communication within the family
• Resolve conflicts and rebuild trust
• Support parents in managing behaviour and emotional challenges
• Strengthen attachment relationships
• Build collaborative strategies to support the young person’s mental health
Our aim is to create a safe, neutral space where families can reconnect, understand one another better, and move forward with shared goals.

Group Workshops and Programmes

Sometimes the best support comes from realising you’re not alone. We offer psychoeducational groups and skills-building workshops for young people and their families, covering topics such as:
• Coping with anxiety and stress
• Managing big emotions
• Building confidence and assertiveness
• Mindfulness and emotional regulation
• Social skills training
• Preparing for transitions (e.g. school to university)
Groups are delivered in a supportive, inclusive environment and often become a powerful catalyst for growth and connection.

Neurodevelopmental support

We also provide comprehensive support for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) for young people and young adults.
